Professor Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Bilal Al-Nawas is Chairman of the Department of Oral, Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery at the J. Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany. He has been Adjunctive Associate Professor at Kyung Hee University School of Dentistry, Seoul, Korea, since 2009.

Professor Al-Nawas’ major clinical and scientific focus in dental implantology is on clinical studies and basic research. His clinical field of work is compromised patients with risk factors or local bone deficiency, as well as tumor and cleft reconstructions. He has published over 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

He is an ITI Fellow, former member of the ITI Board of Directors, former chair of the ITI Research Committee, and former ITI Education Delegate of the ITI Section Germany. He was twice awarded “Best Teacher at the Medical Faculty”. He is Secretary General of the German Society of Implantology (DGI) and Past President of the International Federation of Dental Anesthesiology Societies (IFDAS).

Prof. Saso Ivanovski is the Head of School and Dean of the School of Dentistry at the University of Queensland School of Dentistry . He is also Professor of Periodontology and Director of the Centre for Orofacial Regeneration, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (COR3). He is a board-registered specialist in Periodontics and has a part-time specialist practice in periodontics and surgical implant dentistry. Prof. Ivanovski is a Senior Fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and past federal president of the Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and the Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP). Saso has published over 300 scientific papers in the peer-reviewed literature and leads an internationally recognized research group with an interest in oro-dental regeneration, tissue engineering and implantology.

Dr Cecilia So (Dental Surgeon) is a dentist with practice limited to surgical dentistry and implantology. She has a referral practice based in Strathfield, Sydney and Bathurst in regional NSW.

Dr So graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2003. She gained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, in 2008 by examination, and completed her accredited dental implant training at the University of Sydney in 2010.
Dr Cecilia So is an Adjunct Clinical lecturer for the University of Sydney and has served for over 10 years on the Graduate Diploma Oral Implants program and the Australasian Osseointegration Society (NSW branch).

She is also involved in establishing the Graduate Diploma course in Cambodia at the University of Puthisastra, and established a volunteer dental program, YourAid, in 2009. For her contributions to dental volunteering and oral implant education, she has received a fellowship from the International College of Dentists and a fellowship from the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

He collaborates with industry-leading manufacturers, ensuring he remains at the forefront of emerging technologies and materials.

Jeroen is the founder of Dentiq, a full-service digital dental laboratory and consultancy/training centre in Melbourne, housing many of the world’s leading digital dental technologies.

Having owned and operated multiple laboratories across Europe and Asia, and serving as a Key Opinion Leader for several brands, Jeroen provides expert support in modern digital workflows and upcoming innovations in dentistry.

John Lucas is the sole director and Ceramist of Intra Oral Technologies in Melbourne, Australia.
His boutique laboratory situated in Malvern East specialises in complex implant, Crown and Bridge restorative work and aims to achieve the highest aesthetic outcomes. The laboratory incorporates digital design and milling workflow for high accuracy and predictability.
John completed his apprenticeship in 1983 at the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital and won ‘Apprentice of the year’. In 1994 he completed a 2-year Diplomacy of Dental Science. He has been mentored by master Ceramists from Australia, Switzerland, Germany and Japan gaining valuable experience in the art of ceramics.
John has been a Dental Ceramist for 35 years and works alongside some of the most respected clinicians in Melbourne and Canberra. His 32 years of experience with dental implants has allowed him to showcase his restorations to the highest standard.
John is a Senior Fellow of the prestigious International Team of Implantology (ITI). He has lectured Nationally and Internationally for Straumann, Australia and the ITI. He lecturer to the post-graduate students at Melbourne University on an annual basis, and is a member of the Brighton ITI Study Club.

Oral And Facial Surgery Specialists

Felix Sim is an Oral and Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Surgeon specialising in head and neck oncologic ablative and reconstructive surgery. Felix graduated from dentistry at the Uni. Of Sydney in 2001 and completed his medical degree at The University of Melbourne in 2009. He completed his specialty training obtaining FRACDS(OMS) in 2015. Felix then undertook further subspecialty training in Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Surgery from 2015 to 2017 at the Providence Cancer Centre.

Felix currently has appointments as Clinical Assoc. Professor at the University of Melbourne and serve as a Consultant OMS at Barwon Health and Melbourne Health. His research has been published in journals like the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, contributing valuable insights to oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr Gerry Clausen lectured extensively throughout every State of Australia. Lecture topics have included removable partial dentures, restorative dentistry, crown and bridgework, and implant prosthodontics.

He has run advanced and basic level implant programmes in Australia, and New Zealand. He has also given lecture programmes in China (Dental China Expo 95 Guangzhou), and North America (Star of the North meeting, Minneapolis, Minn. 1996), Implant Innovations Inc. annual meeting, (Dallas Tx, 1996), and the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter meeting in Chicago, Illinois, 1999. He has been involved in table clinics, lectures, and live patient treatment in ADA Dental Congresses from 1985-1998.

Dr Annalene Weston completed her undergraduate dental degree and vocational training in the UK and worked in NHS and private dentistry before immigrating to Australia. She has worked across three Australian states, in both private and public dentistry, and gained her Masters in Health Law at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Law in 2008.

Annalene was awarded a Fellowship to the American College of Dentistry in 2016 and a Fellowship to the Pierre Fauchard Academy in 2019 in recognition of her strong work in ethics and collegiate support. She became a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry in 2020. Annalene works part-time in a suburban dental practice.
